Floral Design Schedule:
“Butterflies are Free”: Using Butterflies as your inspiration, create an arrangement with fresh floral plant material. Not to exceed 12 inches in any direction.
Horticulture:
Autumn Continues
Please use a container that will not topple over
Class 1: Berried branch not to exceed 24” from top of container to tip of branch.
Class 2: Coned branch not to exceed 24” from top of container to tip of branch
Class 3: Fall foliage branch not to exceed 24” from top of container to tip.
Your Indoor Garden
Par: An exhibit of exceptional horticultural merit that has been owned and grown by exhibitor for a minimum of 6 months. Entries will be judged individually against perfection. Containers must not exceed 14” diagonally. Provide saucer if necessary.

10:30- Review / Learning Time – Bench Show Items Each meeting, have in-depth discussion of one discipline’s entries- Floral, Hort, Photo-what was successful /what needs help? Though points will be recorded – they will no longer be announced

11:00- Speaker: John Himmelman Butterflies and Their Gardens
As an author, illustrator and naturalist, John has written and illustrated many books, most for children, but a few for adults on various natural history subjects. He has served on a number of environmental boards and commissions over the years, including president of the New Haven Bird Club, the CT Butterfly Association (which he co-founded), and the Killingworth Land Conservation Trust. John has led many trips afield in search of exciting flora and fauna and has given his presentations throughout the country. Followed by Q & A.
Noon – Final Appreciation of Bench Show and depart.
